Oasis RV Resort

This is a really nice place. The Lobby has a store, theatre, restaurant, meeting rooms... I don't think I saw it all yet. There's a pool and a 9 hole set of putting greens almost hidden in the landscape around the building. It really is like an oasis, a walled compound of artificial terrain and clever irrigation. Nice, but not real, maybe.
It is so hot and dry here. Up close it is not beautiful, the beauty lies in the scope.Nellis AFB is here, and very active. The city is situated in this vast basin, all visible entering from above, it is a small part of the geographic Great Basin. We came through a pass a began our decent watching fighter jets flitting across the sky and memorably, the shadow of a squadron of 3 passed directly over us as we gawked at others in our view. It is a large, large place, maybe as big as the Valley of the Sun, don't know and it's hard to tell. I think we've found we like the natural parts of the SW better and will try to spend more time on the terrain.
